Following the success of previous meetings, SAM (Snow Algae Meeting) has now evolved into SAGIAM, bringing together researchers from around the world working on snow and glacier ice algae. In the same spirit, no registration fees were charged, and the AlpAlga consortium was delighted to welcoming this prestigious workshop at Université Grenoble Alpes!
Session topics followed the format of previous editions, fostering discussion, exchange, and collaboration.
Colleagues investigating snow and ice algae in all their forms and from any discipline were warmly invited to present
and share their research in an informal, workshop-like setting over two full days.
Scientific committee: Alberto Amato (LPCV Grenoble), Helen Feord (GFZ Potsdam, Germany), Trinity Hamilton (University of Minnesota, USA), Robin Kodner (Western Washington University, USA) and Eric Maréchal (LPCV Grenoble).
